Exhibitions, special stays and activations make the storied Brickell property Miami’s most enticing destination for Art Week 2023

Hong Kong, 6 November 2023 –  Set in the heart of one of the world’s most charismatic and exciting destinations, the team at Mandarin Oriental, Miami are looking forward to welcoming guests and locals alike with special dining and bar activations, themed stay packages and a world-class contemporary art exhibition as part of Art Week.

Just a stone’s throw from Brickell City Center and the Design District, Wynwood and the Perez Art Museum, the hotel is perfectly situated to again showcase why Miami has become a key annual fixture on the global art scene. Running this year from December 5-10, Art Week serves as the perfect introduction to the holiday season and as a lookahead to an exciting calendar of events throughout 2024.

To allow visitors to immerse themselves in the city’s truly unique artistic atmosphere, an Art Week package, Especially for Art Lovers includes an overnight stay in a Deluxe Bay View Room or higher room category for two guests. Unique extra benefits include an Art Week special welcome gift in the room, early check-in or late check-out and complimentary valet parking. Valid from 5 December to 11 December, the Art Week Package is priced from USD 2,250 + tax.

As leading global galleries show contemporary art around the city, Mandarin Oriental, Miami is thrilled to once again partner with Los Angeles-based Art Angels. This year in the spotlight is artist Christopher “Flore” Florentino, an artist of the new school, as the hotel transforms into a gallery with an exhibition of his vibrant paintings. Entitled “Best In Show”, they merge street art influences and fine art technique.

At the hotel’s grand entrance, guests will be greeted with a photo opportunity thanks to Flore’s large-scale “Ron Burgundy” custom vinyl piece. Elsewhere, ‘Love, Light and Peace’ will feature at the entrance to La Mar by Gastón Acurio, the cosmopolitan home of Peruvian gastronomy which has established itself as one of Miami’s most thrilling dining destinations.

Inside, Flore’s framed prints and diptych Radiant Child are shown while, in true synchronicity of the decorative and culinary arts, guests can even enjoy Chef Diego Oka’s special dishes inspired by Flore’s works.

Also featuring as part of Art Week, Flore has conceptualized special signature cocktails in conjunction with our award-winning bartenders at MO Bar + Lounge, while works will be sold with a percentage of proceeds donated to His House Foundation

Finally, to raise and glass and celebrate this unique union of hospitality and contemporary art, an unmissable evening launch event will take place during Art Week, once again cementing Mandarin Oriental, Miami’s place as a beloved local crossroads of hospitality and culture.
